MacOS X Drive Mapping Instructions

Anytime you want to access the data on the servers, you must first connect to our VPN unless you are on campus using UAWIFi or connected to the Ethernet in the College.

Steps 1-8 only have to be done once on a computer.

1. Click on the Desktop or  the Finder icon in the Dock to get to the Finder menu bar.

2 Click on the GO menu on the menu bar and select “Connect to Server.”

5. Then, delete the text at the top and type the following: smb://pharmacy.pharmacy.arizona.edu/users/your_user_name in the server address box.

Substitute your COP login name for your_user_name

6. Again, click the “+” icon button to add it to the list below, to add this to your “Favorites list” of servers.

7. Then, delete the text at the top and type the following exactly: smb://pharmacy.pharmacy.arizona.edu/data/share

8. Again, click the “+” icon button to add it to the list below, to add this to your “Favorites
list” of servers.

9. Now, one at a time, click on each item you added to the list below and click the
CONNECT button for each one. You have to re-connect every time you restart your
computer, or the VPN is disconnected.

10. For the FIRST item, it may prompt you for your username and password. Type your
College of Pharmacy username and password (this will be the password you use to logon
to the computers in the College of Pharmacy, NOT your email password), once connected to the pharmacy.pharmacy.arizona.edu server, you should not be asked for a password again.

11. Once connected, you should be able to access these folders by double-clicking on your
the volume icons (if you have the ‘Connected Servers’ checked in the Finder preference  ‘Show these items on the Desktop’) or by opening a new Finder window. You will then see the pharmacy.pharmacy… folders on the left pane under the SHARED section. Click on them to view the contents just like you would when you are working on a College of Pharmacy computer.
